Save the Arctic Performances
Greenpeace commissioned Sideways to create performance in their field at Glastonbury Festival 2013/ 2014 to help them promote their ‘Save the Arctic’ campaign and inspire more audiences to support their cause. To achieve this we created a spectacular, outdoor show Blizzard (2013) that combined dance, circus, original score, a bespoke lantern parade and cross site snow storm. The show told the story of the Greenpeace campaign whilst inspiring, provoking and uplifting its audience.
“Thanks to Sideways Arts who brought our field to life with innovative and exciting entertainment, highlighting the issues from our campaign in a fun and accessible way.” Bob Wilson, Special Events at Greenpeace
The entire field was animated with theatre and embedded characters (2013/ 2014). These acts brought the field to life whilst raising awareness of the campaign and entertaining the festival crowds.
