The Play House Theatre and Bar
Shambala Festival asked us to produce a brand new theatre venue at their event in 2013 which went down so well we did it again in 2014 and 2015. We created the ‘The Play House’ Theatre and bar, for which we were awarded with the ‘Best Newcomers Venue’ 2013 by the festival.
In 2013 the venue seated an audience of over 500 and in 2014 we increased this to more than 800. We curated an exciting and groundbreaking programme of both established and up and coming circus, physical theatre, comedy and dance shows. We also created the headline circus performance La Luna (2013), Tarantino (2014) and Boogie Wonderland (2015) in association with The Bureau of Random Acts that featured each night to full houses.
As part of the interactive experience we created various embedded characters to animate the space and create the world of the theatre to include usherettes, popcorn sellers, theatre critics and diva actress. See our photo galleries for 2013 here and 2014 here.
