3 Aerial Circus Performers Required

Sideways Arts are recruiting 3 aerial performers with strong physical theatre and characterisation or clowning skills. This is for research and development of a new contemporary circus show about climate change for family audiences. It is supported by Arts Council England and we intend to tour the show in the future.

We are looking for 3 x performers of varying playing ages, one of which will play a younger / child character all with aerial skills in at least one of the following disciplines: single or doubles trapeze, Chinese pole, cradle. Applicants must have good stage presence, an interest in exploring themes of climate change and have experience in / a keen motivation for devising new ensemble work on alternative apparatus. We are also looking for a team player who is willing to help with get in and get outs.

The R&D period is for four weeks from 28th July until 24th August and includes a showing at Jacksons Lane Theatre and Shambala Festival. Applicants must be available for the whole period including the weekend of 22nd – 24th August when performances will take place. A weekly fee of £430 will be paid in line with ITC guidelines.
